How To Transform A Home Extension Into A Halloween Haunt
Halloween is fast creeping up on us. Have you made any plans to celebrate the scariest day of the year? There is still time! Why not host Halloween in your own 4 walls and where better than inside your conservatory or orangery.
Don’t be spooked out by the prospect of having a Halloween party as turning your home extension into a bloodcurdling cauldron is easier than you think.
- Fancy dress
We Brits love any excuse to wear fancy dress so encourage friends and family to attend by announcing it will be a fancy dress party. There are hundreds of brilliant fancy dress costumes out there – think the Joker, Edward Scissorhands, Beetlejuice, Freddy Krueger etc. Sometimes the funniest costumes are the zero budget ones created at the last minute using whatever you can find around the house; bandages and a few safety pins spring to mind.
- Decorations
Get straight down to the supermarket and fill your trolley full of pumpkins before putting your carving skills to the test. There are pumpkin carving patterns and stencils you can buy to make it easier, and once done, insert a tea light inside the final creation to bring your pumpkin to life, scattering them around the room. Hang some black and orange bunting, fake cobwebs and throw out some plastic bats to make things extra eerie.
- Games
No Halloween bash would be complete without a few grisly games, with treats given out to successful competitors and losing players being on the end of a trick. Get the goodies in and organise things like ‘Mummy Racing’ where people are challenged to wrap their partners in toilet roll quickest or you could be even more traditional and make them dunk their faces in buckets of water for apples.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!
