Glass Roof Orangery With Patio Doors
Helping a family get the open plan space they craved.
The Morleys no longer find frustration in having insufficient space in their home as the property has grown in size following the addition of an exquisite glass roof orangery.
Within a few months of completing the purchase of a new three-bedroom, semi-detached house, the Morleys welcomed their first child into the world. Understandably, they didn’t want to move house again so quickly and had become very fond of it, but they needed to do something to acquire extra space. In a lightbulb moment, they thought about extending with an extension, which would bridge the divide between home and garden.
Off they went searching for one and it resulted in a journey to our showroom, where we had a number of extensions displayed. One really caught their eye – a living space converted into an open-plan kitchen diner, making it possible for cooking, dining and relaxing to all co-exist in one room. Hearts set on owning something similar, our designers closely replicate the design, a structure that tempts generous natural light inside and never suffers from overheating.
To give the Morleys a clear picture of how the orangery would look fused into their property, they were presented with a 3D version of it on our intelligent design software and it won their investment. An installation date was held back until we’d firstly obtained Building Regulations Approval on behalf of the couple and once ratified, it was only six weeks later that the construction of the orangery was completed.
Their friends and family seem to love the orangery as much as they do judging by the number of lovely things they’ve said about it, several commenting on the unique feel it has. Sliding patio doors were assimilated into the orangery so that the Morleys can let out their son to play in the garden whilst they remain inside savouring the internal ambience. Climate control is regulated by elements like the solar control glazing in the roofing system.
