2024’s Home Improvement Trends Uncovered

Much of the population has done the annual thing of setting themselves some New Year resolutions and some of these personal goals will revolve around a desire to transform the home.

A renewal of a house is so cleansing and an undertaking popularly done at this time of year for the sake of closing a chapter and beginning a new one to give its inhabitants a lift, increase its value etc.

If the orchestration of a home makeover is on your list of 2024 resolutions, it will be to your interest to discover about some of the year’s biggest home improvement trends.

Sweet Embrace™ – Dulux Colour of the Year

Barbie-mania swept the globe in 2023 after the release of the smash-hit film and Dulux likely reacted to that with their choice of ‘Colour of the Year 2024’ – Sweet Embrace™.

Although nowhere close to the dazzling shade idolised by the fashion doll, it is a pink hue, blossom pink to be precise, and features tiny tinges of grey and blue. The official line of their colour pick was Dulux looking for a tone that brings a feeling of positivity to our lives.

Colour drenching a room in Sweet Embrace™ will be a step too far for some, but it can work, as will applying it solo to the whole of an accent wall. Another option is to keep the delicate pink just to your rugs, vases, and scatter cushions.

Retro Interiors

Swap the 2020’s for the 1970’s because retro interiors from that special era are set to enjoy a comeback as we seek an escape from present-day living and its much busier outlook.

It’ll spark the return to living rooms of carpets and wall coverings with large geometrics, joined by natural wood dressing tables and bureaus, fabrics made from velvet, and wall tiles evocative of 70’s design.

One offering in our product line, cottage windows, is reconcilable with the retro theme as its design is inspired by 19th century traditional wooden windows.

Curvy Mirrors

Mirrors don’t fall into the ‘craze’ category because they’ve never been unfashionable, but a trend to grow out of them this time around is the curvy mirror.

A curvy mirror with an intriguing shape on a lounge or bathroom wall will lure the eyes into looking at it, more so than a normal square or rectangular mirror could, and diffuse the light that comes in.

When shopping for mirrors, you will discover that they come in a variety of shapes, sizes and materials, ready for exhibiting on walls individually or if you go small, in a compelling cluster.
