Permaframe Has A Window To Suit Every Somerset Home
Plain white UPVC windows are almost everywhere you look on the nation’s streets and whilst that definitely isn’t meant to be a criticism of them, there are plenty other window options available to homeowners.
At least there is at Permaframe where we have window styles ranging from classic casements to super sliding sashes in every possible colour you can think of and crafted in both UPVC and aluminium.
The depth of diversity in our window range means that you’re guaranteed to find replacement windows that brilliantly complement your property, whatever its age or character. We also have a suitably eclectic choice of hardware to match.
Let us talk you through some of the possibilities…
Casement / Flush Casement Windows
Attached to its frame by one or more hinges at the side and offering an outwards opening, the casement window first came to prominence in the middle of the 18th Century and delivers exceptional versatility.
The Flush Casement differs slightly. Traditionally crafted from timber, when the window (or sash) is closed, it sits flush within the frame. Nowadays it’s built using UPVC, though it still promises authentic styling.
Sash Windows
Sash windows have existed since before the 17th Century when the top sash would be fixed to the bottom which slid upwards. It wasn’t until several years later that they would frequently be integrated into properties.
Their popularity hasn’t dipped and they’re most typically chosen as a replacement window when someone wants to preserve the character of their residence.
Tilt & Turn Window
You get dual functionality with a Tilt & Turn window as a quarter turn of the handle opens the top of the window, enabling it to tilt inwards from the bottom hinges, while a half-turn of the handle allows the window to swing inwards from the side hinges.
The Tilt & Turn facility makes cleaning the windows incredibly easy as it can be done safely from inside the house and provides options in terms of ventilation.
Bay & Bow Windows
A bay window consists of three or more windows that angle outwards while a bow window has an arch featuring four, five, or six windows.
The forward projection of a bay or bow window will help make the interior of the respective room feel extra spacious. Added natural sunlight will also travel through.
Permaframe fits and supplies all of these window designs and more…
Georgian Windows and Heritage Windows are also included in our vast window range. Whichever replacement window you buy from us, you’re also guaranteed outstanding thermal performance and security – a true all-rounder.
