Wild Wonder™ – Dulux Colour of the Year
Over the last 20 years, the colour experts at Dulux have selected a Colour of the Year. For 2023, they have chosen ‘Wild Wonder™’. They have described the muted green as being “inspired by the natural world”.
Their reasoning for selecting Wild Wonder™ was because they wanted a colour that would bring some energy and positivity into our homes and to also ensure we feel well connected to nature outside.
It could work in any room as it’s very soft and warm, but it’s generally felt to be most suitable for relaxed areas like bedrooms, kitchens and home offices.
Odd-shaped rugs
It doesn’t always require a total overhaul of a room to revive it, with a new floor covering often enough to update its look.
But it won’t be your usual circular, square and rectangular rugs that will be gracing floors this year, more so rugs in geometric, curved and angular shapes.
Make a quirky new rug the main focus of attention in your conservatory design and show yourself off as a trendsetter.
Social spaces
Government rules forced us all to halt any house parties during the height of the pandemic and it will only be in 2023 that some householders feel okay again with having large numbers in their properties.
A kitchen that features an island and breakfast bar could make for a fantastic social space as you can maintain conversation with your guests whilst they relax and you get on with the cooking.
So would a home extension, conservatory or orangery if it has sufficient lighting and heating and is attractively styled.
